Vicki I. Podberesky specializes in state and federal criminal defense, including appellate and post-conviction work.

Prior to joining the firm in 1988, Ms. Podberesky was a Litigation Attorney at Jones, Day, Revis & Pogue, practicing white collar criminal defense.  She was also an Associate at Finley, Kumble, Wagner, Heine, Underberg, Manley, Myerson & Casey, representing individuals and corporations in complex criminal and civil fraud litigation.

Ms. Podberesky has received honors for her work in criminal defense law, including the "Best Lawyers in America" distinction for white collar and non-white collar criminal defense.  She was also named a "Super Lawyers of Southern California" from 2004 to 2009.  Additionally, she has authored a chapter entitled, "Release Procedures," in the California Criminal Law Procedure and Practice, 2nd edition treatise.

Ms. Podberesky received her undergraduate degree in economics from University of California, Berkeley, and her Juris Doctor degree from University of Southern California Law Center in 1985.  While at USC she was an Intern for the USC Prison Law Project, and following graduation became an E. Barrett Prettyman Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center.

Ms. Podberesky is involved in several professional law associations.  She was a Member of the Board of Governors, Chair of the Governmental Misconduct Committee, and former Co-Chair of the Amicus Curiae Committee of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice.  She was also a Member of the Board of Directors for the Criminal Courts Bar Association, Faculty Member in the trial advocacy training program at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and was a Staff Attorney to Judge William Webster for the Webster Commission, which was formed to evaluate the Los Angeles Police Department response to the riots in 1992. 

She has also acted as a Lawyer Representative for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, and as a Volunteer Attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, acted as an Arbitrator over fee disputes for the Los Angeles County Bar Association Dispute Resolution Services, and represented members of environmental and animal rights organizations in criminal matters.

Ms. Podberesky is a Member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Criminal Courts Bar Association, and National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.  She is also admitted to practice law in California; the District of Columbia; the Federal District Court, Central District of California; and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
